Beavers Return to Mat Sunday to Host Utah Valley and Stanford

Notes Week Four

Week Four
• Oregon State returns home to Gill Coliseum for its long awaited home debut on Sunday to host a triangular that includes Utah Valley and Stanford.
• OSU will open the day against Utah Valley at 4 pm (PT) and Stanford at 6 pm.
• This will mark the Beaver's first time back wrestling in Gill since Feb. 22 of 2020, marking a 352 day absence from their home.

Leading the Way
• Redshirt senior Devan Turner and redshirt junior Grant Willits were named team captains.

Individual Point Leaders
• No. 15 Hunter Willits leads the Beavers with 23 points on the year, followed by his brother No. 16 Grant Willits and No. 24 Brandon Kaylor each with 19.
• J.J. Dixon has 15 points this season, fourth best on the team.

Shaner Shining in Year One with Beavers
• Jason Shaner is 4-0 as a Beaver, including a 2-0 dual record.
• The redshirt junior has two decisions and two major decisions on the year.
• He comes to OSU after posting a 57-7 record at Clackamas Community College in two seasons.

Kaylor and Willits Brothers off to Strong Starts
• No. 24 Brandon Kaylor, No. 15 Hunter Willits, and No. 16 Grant Willits are all 5-2 on the year.
• Kaylor earned his fifth win against Cal Poly on Jan. 14 with a 10-6 decision against Antonio Lorenzo.
• Hunter Willits followed up a 3-0 performance in Stillwater with a 10-2 major decision on Jan. 14 against Brawley Lamer of Cal Poly, improving to 5-2 this year.
• Grant Willits claimed a 12-5 decision over Cal Poly's Lawrence Saenz on Jan. 14 to improve to 5-2.

Pendleton's First Career Win
• Head coach Chris Pendleton earned his first career win after the Beavers topped Little Rock, 33-9, in Stillwater on Jan. 10.

Engel's First Career Win
• Assistant coach Nate Engel earned his first career win while serving as head coach against Cal Poly Jan. 14.
