LOUISVILLE – Jordan Hyde and Tyler Bradbury put on an offensive clinic Saturday afternoon as they led a second-half surge to guide the Utah lacrosse team to a 12-7 victory over future ASUN Conference foe Bellarmine inside Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.

Hyde finished with four goals while Bradbury picked up his second hat trick of the year in as many games. The tandem combined for five of the team's seven scores in the second half of action, while Zack Johns held the Knights offense at bay finishing with nine saves.

Bellarmine broke the seal in the opening minute, but the Utah (1-1) offense didn't take long to respond and reeled off three-straight goals. Hyde got the offense going for the Utes once again on a feed from Ramsey McCreary before MJ McMahan and Branden Wilson followed before the home team snuck one past Johns to get within 3-2 after the first quarter.

Once again, Hyde go the Utes going to start the second frame and blistered one past the Bellarmine (1-1) keeper for the 4-2 edge with 12:16 on the clock. McCreary recorded his first goal of the year shortly thereafter and gave Utah the 5-2 cushion before BU's Landon Trout made it 5-3 in favor of the Utes heading into halftime.

Bradbury extended the Utah lead, 6-3, midway through a very defensive third quarter but a late goal by Bellarmine with just three ticks left in the quarter pushed the momentum in its favor. After a late goal to end the third, BU continued its offensive attacked and rung up a couple goals to tie the match up at 6-6 just 39 seconds into the start of the fourth.

Not to be outdone, Hyde picked up his third and fourth goals of the afternoon not too long afterwards and sandwiched Jack Barron's score to give Utah the 9-6 lead. Bradbury then join in on the fray and blasted in two of his own before Jared Andreala put the finishing touches on the game for the 12-7 victory.
