SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Arizona Women's Golf team will compete in their second event of the year at Lamkin Invitational, Feb. 8 and 9, in Southern California. The Wildcats will not travel a full squad for the San Diego State-hosted event, sending a trio of underclassmen to compete as individuals in the event.

"Our underclassmen will get the chance to compete again in just their second college event in almost a year," said head coach Laura Ianello. "Gile, Maya and Therese have been working hard in preparation for this tournament and have built off of the valuable experience they gained at the Superstition Challenge."

Sophomores Therese Warner and Gile Bite Starkute will join freshman Maya Benita in the event as individuals. The Lamkin Invitational was formerly known as the SDSU Mayhem Classic, which the Wildcats last participated in back in 2017. The 2021 edition of the event will be played at the Farms Golf Club in Santa Fe, California.

Arizona will not have its complete roster at the event as the decorated trio Vivan Hou, Ya Chun Chang and Yu-Sang Hou are in the process of returning to the program. The three participated in an event in their home of Taiwan last month and will return to Tucson to for the bulk of the Wildcats' spring season.
