USC freshman forward Evan Mobley has been named the Pac-12 Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week for the Week of Feb. 1-7, it was announced by the Conference today (Feb. 8).  Mobley joins Onyeka Okongwu as the only player to win both awards in the same week and sets the Pac-12 record by earning his fifth Freshman of the Week honor.

Mobley helped lead USC to a 72-66 win at Stanford on Feb. 2 and a 66-48 win over then-No. 21 UCLA on Feb. 6 at the Galen Center.   During the week's games Mobley averaged 16.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks.

The 7-0 forward collected his Pac-12 leading eighth double-double with 23 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in the win at Stanford on Feb. 2.  The win snapped USC's five-game losing streak at Maples Pavilion.  Against UCLA on Feb. 6, Mobley finished with nine points, nine rebounds, four blocks and a team-leading three assists.  The victory over UCLA vaulted the Trojans into a first-place tie in the Pac-12 with UCLA at 9-2.

Mobley just keeps adding on to his 2020-21 accolades which include being named to the Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 Watch List, the 2021 NABC Player of the Year Watch List, the 2021 Naismith Trophy Watch List, a 2021 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award finalist, a Naismith Defensive Player of the Award Watch List finalist and being named to the 2020-21 Pac-12 Men's Basketball Preseason Media All-Conference First Team.

Through the first 18 games of his collegiate career Mobley is averaging 16.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game.  Mobley's 53 blocks already rank him fourth on USC's all-time freshman blocks list.
