No. 3 Utah Gymnasts Have Bye Week at Regular Season's Halfway Point

SALT LAKE CITY – The third-ranked Utah gymnasts will have a bye week before returning to competition next Friday, Feb. 19 against the UCLA Bruins. It is the 13th regular-season bye in the 46-year history of Utah gymnastics.

Utah remained No. 3 in the national rankings for the second-straight week with the rankings still based on average score through five weeks of competition. Florida is ranked No. 1 (197.506), while LSU is in second place (197.144) ahead of the Utes (197.090).

After a season-high floor effort, Utah moved to No. 2 on floor, while the team stayed steady at No. 2 on beam this week. Utah's season-high vault score, which was the second highest in the nation to this point, improved the event rank by four spots and jumped to No. 4 nationally. Utah rounds out the event rankings coming in at No. 9 on bars.

Individually, Maile O'Keefe leads the Red Rocks in the rankings where she sits at No. 2 on beam, No. 7 in the all-around and tied for No. 23 on floor. Sydney Soloski is tied for No. 12 on floor, Cristal Isa is No. 14 on bars, and Cammy Hall is tied for No. 23 on vault.

O'Keefe has collected a team-high 10 victories this season and has won at least two titles every meet. Soloski has won three floor titles in 2021 and Alexia Burch has won three vault titles. Isa, Hall and Abby Paulson have each posted two victories this season.

The Utes and Bruins will compete next Friday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. MT in the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The meet will be televised on ESPNU.
