Feb 9, 2021

RANCO SANTA FE, CALIF. – Fifth-year senior Marie Lund-Hansen recorded a top-15 finish to lead the Washington State women's golf team in its first tournament of the season at the Lamkin Invitational. The Cougars rounded out their season-opening tournament in seventh place on the team leaderboard, finishing at 72-over-par 936.

Lund-Hansen concluded the Lamkin Invitational in a tie for 14th overall, as she shot 10-over-par 880 in three rounds of play at the Farms Golf Course in Rancho Santa Fe, California. The fifth-year senior collected two birdies in Wednesday's (Feb. 9) third round, as she carded four-over-par 76.

"The team had a solid finish this week to start the season," said head coach Kelli Kamimura. "Scoring was incredibly high across the field due to course set-up, but the positive is we learned a lot and look to build on this week and prepare for our next event at ASU."

Junior Darcy Habgood also posted a top-25 finish for Washington State, tying for 25th overall on the player leaderboard. The junior from Nambucca Heads, Australia concluded her first tournament of the season at 15-over-par 231.

As a team, WSU ended the Lamkin Invitational carding 318 (+30) in the third round on Wednesday. Junior Cameron March collected a team-best three birdies on the day, while junior Amy Chu birded the 11th hole to help her finish the day at five-over par 77.
