Men’s Golf Set To Begin The Prestige

BERKELEY – California men's golf will head to SoCal this weekend to compete at The Prestige, its second tournament of 2021.
The three-day tournament will take place Feb. 15-17 at Greg Norman Course (Par 71). The Bears will be facing off against 20 other teams including six Pac-12 opponents (Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford and USC).
Here is how the Bears' lineup will look:
1. Aaron Du
2. Sampson Zheng
3. James Song
4. Finigan Tilly
5. Kyle Maspat
All players competed at the Southwestern Invitational except for Maspat who will be making his first start of the season. In that tournament, Du led Cal, finishing tied for 22nd with a total of 225 (+9) strokes. Three behind Du and also competing in his first tournament at Cal, Zheng tied for 34th after shooting a 77 (+5) in the final round. Zheng finished with 228 (+12) strokes overall. Entering the back nine seven strokes over par, he was able to recover with seven pars and two birdies. Furthermore, his average score of 3.00 on par 3s was tied for the lowest among all 66 competitors. Tilly's score of 229 (+13) placed him in a tie for 38th.
Costas Panay will be also be playing this weekend, competing as an individual at a nearby course called Coral Mountain.
