LAS VEGAS – The #2 Washington Huskies finished off a long Saturday with an 8-2 win over UNLV. Sis Bates, SilentRain Espinoza, and Kelley Lynch all had multiple hits, with Lynch hitting a home run while also striking out six batters in the circle.

The Huskies were patient all day, drawing eight walks and getting hit by two pitches. Sami Reynolds led the way with three walks. It was Reynolds' seventh career game with multiple walks and second three-walk game. Morganne Flores also drew two walks.

Lynch was excellent all-around, with five of her six strikeouts catching batters looking. She would retire nine in a row at one point before Gabbie Plain took over for the final three innings. Plain would shutout UNLV in her time in the circle, ending the day by striking out the side to seal the victory.

  • Second Inning: Taryn Atlee, Jadelyn Allchin, and Bates laced together singles, with Bates' bringing in the first run of the game.
  • Third Inning: Lynch fouled off a number of pitches before finding one she liked and ripping it over the centerfield wall for a three-run shot and a 4-0 lead.
  • Fourth Inning: Up with two runners on again, Lynch beat out a single to the right side. The rushed throw got away from the first baseman, allowing a Husky to score. A sacrifice fly by Huskey made it 6-0.
  • Fourth Inning: Lynch's stretch of nine straight batters ended when UNLV drew a walk and followed that with a two-run home run into the wind.
  • Fifth Inning: With the bases loaded, Espinoza worked the count and knocked a two-run single through the right side.
  • The Huskies have had the leadoff batter in the game reach in every game this season.
  • Bates (2x4, R, RBI, BB) has reached base safely multiple times every game this season. She has multiple hits in three of four games.
  • Since hitting her first career home run, Lynch (2x4, R, HR, 4 RBI) has never gone more than three games without a homer.
  • Lynch has hit six home runs in the 12 games she has also pitched in during her career.
  • Espinoza (2x3, R, 2 RBI) has had two bases-loaded plate appearances so far this year and has driven in runs both times.
  • In her last three starts, Lynch has recorded 23 strikeouts.
  • Reynolds (0x2, R, 3 BB) on-base streak stretched to 37 games. She has reached base multiple times in 20 of those.
  • Plain (3.0 IP, 3 H, 5 K) allowed multiple baserunners for the first time in her three appearances this year.
