SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Arizona Women's Golf was paced by its lone senior, Yu-Sang Hou, in its first round of its first team event of the season. Hou's 2-under performance put herself in the top five of the individual leaderboards and her team in a tie for sixth place in the Sun Devil Winter Classic. Hou played her best golf on the par-3 holes, finishing the round as one of only six players to shoot below par on the course's shortest holes.

"It was great to see Yu-Sang play strong in the first round of her season to lead our team," said head coach Laura Ianello. "Therese posted another one of her better rounds as well today, carrying the momentum from her play as an individual earlier this season. We are positioned well in a strong field entering the second day, and I look forward to seeing our team post more quality scores."

Sophomore Therese Warner followed up her second-best career performance last week at the Lamkin Invitational by shooting a stroke over par on Monday, finishing round one in the top 20 of the individual leaderboards. She closed her round out strong with three birdies in her final five holes.

Hou, Warner and the rest of the Wildcats will return to action for the second day of the of the Sun Devil Winter Classic on Tuesday as they take on a field of all Pac-12 women's golf programs except Stanford.
