Pac-12 Softball Weekly Awards - Feb. 16, 2021

Player of the Week: Maddi Hackbarth, 5th Yr., C, ARIZONA STATE (Oakdale, Calif.) 

• Recorded seven hits in 12 at-bats at the Kajikawa Classic, including the game-tying single in the seventh inning of a 7-5 win over BYU. 
• Went 3-for-3 in a 9-1 win over Seattle, including her first home run of the year and two doubles. 
• Added a solo home run in a 9-4 win over Utah. 
• Helped lead then-No. 16 Arizona State to a 4-0 start to the season. 

Pitcher of the Week: Gabbie Plain, Sr., P, WASHINGTON (Harrington Park, Australia)

• Became just the second pitcher in program history (Danielle Lawler) to pitch a perfect game in the season opener. 
• Also joined Lawler as the first Huskies with multiple perfect games in their careers; completed her second perfect game and fifth no-hitter in an 8-0 win over Southern Utah. 
• Extended her streak to 26 scoreless innings, pitching 15.2 innings over the weekend in two wins over Southern Utah and one against UNLV and Dixie State. 
• Dominated to the tune of 22 strikeouts compared to just nine hits surrendered. 

Freshman of the Week: Madison Simon, Fr., IF, OREGON STATE (Irvine, Calif.)

• Penciled into the leadoff spot for the Beavers in her first collegiate action. 
• Contributed to Oregon State’s 5-0 start to 2021 with seven hits, including three multi-hit games. 
• Recorded her first career triple and RBI in a 6-0 win over Utah State. 
• Added 11 putouts and seven assists as the team’s starting third baseman.
