SAN FRANCISCO -- Junior midfielder Olivia Nguyen was named the Pac-12 Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals, including the first multi-goal game of her collegiate career, last week in a two-game sweep of Grand Canyon University.

This is the second week in a row that a Sun Devil was selected as the conference's Offensive Player of the Week. Junior center forward Nicole Douglas earned the nod last week after collecting a hat trick against New Mexico State in the season opener over the weekend.

Nguyen played quietly in her freshman and sophomore campaigns, never attaining a point in 25 appearances. But in 2021, the spell has officially broken. The Tempe native exploded offensively, having a hand in nearly all the offensive action for ASU. At GCU on Thursday, Nguyen recorded her third goal of the season with two shots on goal. Under the stadium lights on Sunday night, Nguyen shined in the rematch against soccer's crosstown rival. She scored two goals and was credited an assist, all within 27 minutes of the second half to put the exclamation point on ASU's 4-0 shutout win against the Lopes.

Four goals and two assists for ten points on the season puts Nguyen as the team's second-most point-scorer, only after leading goal-scorer and fellow Player of the Week winner, Douglas, who boasts 12 points.

Sun Devil Soccer has a 12-day break before starting conference competition as host to the University of Southern California on Friday, Feb. 26 at Sun Devil Stadium.
