SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Cal women's golf team wrapped up play in the season-opening Sun Devil Winter Classic on Wednesday at Talking Stick Golf Course in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Junior Katherine Zhu was the Golden Bears' top finisher, carding an 8-over par 224 over the three rounds to tie for 25th place in the 54-player field. A strong first two rounds had Zhu among the leaders heading into Wednesday but she shot 6-over par during the final 18 holes and fell out of contention.

Sophomore Jasmine Lew was Cal's next-best finisher, tying for 34th place at 12-over par.

The Bears tied for ninth as a team.

Cal resumes the season next week when it travels to the South Bay to take on Stanford and San Jose State on Feb. 25 at Stanford Golf Course.
