BERKELEY – Five pool records were either broken or tied Friday afternoon as California bested rival Stanford, 167.5-130.5, at Spieker Aquatics Complex in the two squads' final dual meet of the 2021 season.

The foursome of Daniel Carr, Reece Whitley, Bryce Mefford and Björn Seeliger kicked off the meet with a 1:24.38 finish in the 200 medley relay, shaving 0.24 seconds off the previous mark that was set less than a month ago on Jan. 30 against USC.

Trenton Julian set a pair of individual pool records with finishes of 1:33.53 in the 200 free and 4:14.08 in the 500 free. The two times rank as the ninth and eighth fastest times in the nation, respectively. Zach Yeadon additionally set a pool record in the 1000 free at 8:49.88 while fellow senior Bryce Mefford tied former Cal standout Andrew Seliskar for the pool record in the 200 IM with a 1:44.07 victory.
