ST. GEORGE, Utah – The #2 Washington Huskies rolled to a 10-1 win over the Utah State Aggies Friday to improve to 8-1 on the season. Morganne Flores drove in seven runs, her second career seven-RBI game, to lead the way for the Huskies.

Flores came a single away from hitting for the cycle, going 3-for-4 with a double, triple and home run. Lilly Agan also had three hits, a career high for the freshman. Washington's 1-2-3 hitters of Baylee Klingler, Sis Bates, and Sami Reynolds all scored multiple runs, combining to score seven times.

In the circle, it was Kelley Lynch throwing her first complete game of the young season. The sophomore struck out eight and allowed just three hits on the day. Lynch allowed only two baserunners through the game's first five innings.

  • Second Inning: Flores started her day with a solo home run to take the lead.
  • Third Inning: Flores just barely missed a grand slam thanks to heavy wind, instead clearing the bases with a three-run double.
  • Fourth Inning: Washington's other bats got in on things, with Agan, bates, and Reynolds all driving in runs. Agan singled in Madison Huskey, then scored on Bates' triple. Reynolds then hit a grounder to second that let Bates waltz home.
  • Sixth Inning: Flores' night ended with another bases-loaded opportunity, with the senior this time ripping her fourth career triple to score three more runs. Utah State would add a run in the bottom half to make the final margin 10-1.
  • Bates (2x4, 3 R, 3B, RBI) moved into a tie with Kelly Hauxhurst for tenth all-time in hits in Washington history.
  • Flores (3x4, R, 2B, 3B, HR, 7 RBI) also drove in seven runs on May 26, 2017, against Utah in Regionals.
  • Flores moved to seventh in Washington history in RBI, passing Kaitlin Inglesby.
  • Agan (3x3, R, RBI) is the first Husky freshman with a three-hit day since Reynolds did so in the 2019 Women's College World Series.
  • Lynch (6.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 K) has struck out at least eight batters in back-to-back appearances.

Washington plays one game tomorrow, against Utah Valley at 10:00 am PT. There will be no video stream for that game.
