Baseball Falls to CS Fullerton
FULLERTON, Calif. – The Utah baseball team dropped its second game in a row to CS Fullerton on Sunday, Feb. 21.
The Utes scored first, but the Titans had big innings in the second and fifth to put the game out of reach. They eventually won 15-1.
Kai Roberts led the second inning off with a double. After getting to third, Jaylon McLaughlin hit a sacrifice fly to score him and giving Utah the lead.
CS Fullerton bounced back though scoring five runs in the bottom of the second and then tallied seven more runs in the fourth inning.
Utah totaled six hits and drew three walks, but stranded 13 runners on base.
David Watson got the start for Utah and pitched 3.2 innings giving up five earned runs on eight hits. Ben Kibbe saw his first action in a Utah uniform pitching the final 2.0 innings. He struck out three batters and only gave up one hit.
Utah will have one more game against CS Fullerton on Monday, February 22 at 1 p.m. MT.
