Huskies End Weekend With 17-0 Victory
ST. GEORGE, Utah – The bats were out for the #2 Washington Huskies, who scored early and often in a 17-0 victory over Utah Valley. Washington's trio of Kelley Lynch, Jadelyn Allchin, and Kaija Gibson went a combined 9-for-9, driving in 13 runs.
Allchin had her first career multi-homer day and set a new career best with six RBI. Lynch, Gibson, and Sami Reynolds all homered as well, with Gibson hitting her first grand slam.
Every Husky starter reached base safely in the game, with eight of the nine recording hits. Nine different Huskies scored at least one run. Five scored multiple runs in the game.
In the circle, Gabbie Plain struck out ten in her 4.1 innings, allowing only one baserunner. She finished the game retiring 11 in a row before Pat Moore took the circle for the first two outs of the fifth. Plain would return for the game's final out, her tenth strikeout.
Washington will play at San Diego State next weekend, beginning with a doubleheader on Friday, February 26. Game one of that doubleheader will be at 4:00 pm.
