Pac-12 Release

LOS ANGELES – The Pac-12 released its women's soccer weekly awards on Monday and USC senior forward Tara McKeown was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week.

The award comes after McKeown led the 14th-ranked Trojans to a victory over No. 10 BYU with two goals in the team's season opener on February 15.

McKeown opened the scoring for the Trojans with a strike in the 11th minute, running onto a through ball and taking a touch around the goalkeeper before shooting it home. She would later convert a penalty kick in the 70th minute for USC's third goal of the game. The Trojans would win 4-3 in overtime.

The brace was McKeown's fifth multi-goal game of her career and the award is her third Pac-12 weekly honor. She is coming off of a 2019 season in which she scored 15 goals, was a consensus first-team All-American and was a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy.

The Trojans are back in action on Friday when they head to Arizona State for a Pac-12 matchup.
