The Cal women's golf team begins its busiest stretch of the 2021 spring season Thursday when it travels to rival Stanford to compete against the Cardinal and San Jose State.

The one-day, 36-hole event takes place at the Stanford Golf Course.

The Bears then travel to Sacramento next week for the Gunrock Invitational, the site of their first team in four years last March. Junior Katherine Zhu was also the medalist at last year's Gunrock, giving Cal its first individual winner in four years as well.

After the Gunrock Invitational, the Bears will then move on to Fairfax for the Juli Inkster Invitational the following week. The Bears finished fourth at last year's Inkster, which proved to be the final competition of Cal's season before the NCAA suspended the remainder of the season due to COVID-19. Zhu and Jasmine Lew tied for third in the event.

Junior Eun Soo Jeon, a former community college state champion at Fullerton College, is expected to make her Cal debut at Stanford after redshirting last season.

Cal opened the season last week at the Sun Devil Winter Classic in Scottsdale, Arizona, where Zhu was the team's top finisher at 8-over par, which placed her in a tie for 25th place. She shot a 1-under par 71 in the first round.
