Getting To Know Josh Ligas

Freshman Josh Ligas is in his first season as a distance runner for the USC track and field team.  The San Diego native graduated from Poway High in 2020 and is majoring in Economics at USC. On Jan. 22 at the Woo Pig Classic in Arkansas, Ligas set the USC freshman indoor one-mile record with a time of 4:15.64.

Q: What is your favorite subject to learn about?

A: I love learning about nature and animals
 
Q: What is your go to quarantine dinner?

A: Pancakes and Sausage

A: Mile and 2-Mile

A: A lot of cars and food
 
Q: Favorite animal?

A: Cheetah
 
Q: What is your favorite music genre?

A: I like a lot of hip hop and rap along with alternative stuff
 
Q: What do you listen to before races?

A: Hard rock or fast rap songs to get me going
 
Q: What are some of your favorite hobbies?

A: Hiking and being in nature
 
Q: What is the most important part of your identity/brand?

A: I like to think of myself as a quiet killer, typically I'm pretty quiet but I like to work and give my all every day. A lot of people don't see that fire within me.
 
Q: What's your favorite part of about living in LA so far?

A: I like the fast pace of L.A., there is a lot to do you can kind of do anything you want to
 
Q: What are you most excited for about coming to USC?

A: On top of being around such great athletes, I look forward to the academic rigor and classes that focus on my major.
