Nike Agunbiade Leads USC During Day One of the Pac-12 Swim & Dive Championships

Sophomore All-American Nike Agunbiade finished second on women's 1-meter to lead the USC women's swimming and diving program during day one of the 2021 Pac-12 Diving Championships in Tucson, Ariz. 
 
Two Trojans advanced to the championship finals in the 1-meter springboard competition, hosted this year at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center at the University of Arizona. Agunbiade finished second with 313.90 to earn a spot on the podium. In her Pac-12 Championships debut, freshman Farrah Volpintesta finished eighth with 253.65. 
 
Sophomore Savannah Stocker was second in the consolation final, and tenth overall in the 1M competition with 268.40. Newcomer Allison Ward finished 18th with 225.10 
 
At the Pac-12 Women's Swimming Championships, hosted at the University of Houston, the Women of Troy finished fifth in the 800y free relay to open the night. Anicka Delgado, Isabelle Odgers, Hallie Kinsey and Makenna Turner finished in 7:09.97 for USC. 
 
The Trojans suffered a disqualification in the 400y Medley relay, as Aela Janvier, Kaitlyn Dobler, Jemma Schlicht and Marta Ciesla closed out the evening. 
 
The Pac-12 meet, which lasts through Saturday, continues Thursday with the 500 free, 200 individual medley, 50 free and 200 free relay in the pool, as well as 3-meter diving. Finals from both diving (2:10 p.m. PT) and swimming (4 p.m. PT) will be streamed live on Pac-12.com. The men's 1-meter diving competition (9:50 AM PT) will also be streamed live on Pac-12.com.
