• #4 STANFORD clinched its 24th Pac-12 regular-season title on Monday after topping #9 Arizona. The Cardinal will now be the top seed in the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament presented by New York Life, which tips off on Wednesday, March 3 at Michelob ULTRA Arena (Mandalay Bay Events Center) in Las Vegas. STANFORD has earned a top-four seed in every Pac-12 Tournament since its start in 2002.
• The regular season wraps up this weekend with rivalry battles starting on Friday with No. 10 UCLA hosting USC at 5 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. MT and continuing on Sunday with #9 ARIZONA visiting Arizona State at 11 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. MT on Pac-12 Network.
• STANFORD is #2 in the latest NET Rankings, followed by #7 OREGON, #9 UCLA, #12 ARIZONA, #34 OREGON STATE, #42 WASHINGTON STATE, #49 COLORADO and #68 USC for eight teams in the top 70. The four teams in the top 12 are the most of any other conference. STANFORD comes in at #4 in the latest AP poll and is followed by #9 ARIZONA, #10 UCLA and #14 OREGON, and the four teams in the top 14 are the most of any other league.
• #9 ARIZONA’s Aari McDonald is one of ten semifinalists for the Naismith Defensive Players of the Year. McDonald was a finalist for the award last season.
• The Pac-12 boasts five McDonalds All-Americans, with OREGON STATE signee Greta Kampschroeder (G #14), STANFORD recruits Brooke Demetre (#3 W) and Okikiola Iriafen (F #4), and USC’s Clarice Akunwafo (P #2) and Rayah Marshall (G #10) earning the distinction.
• Charlie Creme’s latest 2021 NCAA Tournament 64-team bracket prediction has six Pac-12 teams going dancing, including STANFORD as the top seed and followed by ARIZONA as a two-seed, UCLA as a three-seed, OREGON as a five-seed, and OREGON STATE and WASHINGTON STATE as 11-seeds.
