STANFORD – The Cal women's golf team recorded its best round of the season and had two players finish in the top-10 in a competition against Stanford and San Jose State on Thursday at Stanford Golf Course.

The Bears shot 7-over par over the final 18 holes, including a 1-under par performance from sophomore Jasmine Lew. Junior Katherine Zhu finished in a tie for sixth place in the 36-hole event while freshman Cristina Ochoa placed ninth.

Zhu shot 1-over par during the second round and junior Elena Arias was 2-over for the final 18 holes.

Six of Cal's seven golfers improved their score from the first round to the second round.

Cal finished third as a team at 37-over par.

The Bears only have a few days off before hitting the links again next Monday-Tuesday at the Gunrock Invitational at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento. Cal won the tournament title there last season, its first championship in four years. Zhu was also the medalist at Gunrock last season.
