SAN DIEGO – The #5 Washington Huskies fell 4-0 to San Diego State Friday night. San Diego State burst out of the gates with three runs in the first inning, enough to take the win. Washington is 10-2 on the season now with three more games to play this weekend.

Sis Bates had a double, the 46th of her career, in the first inning. Taryn Atlee reached base in both of her plate appearances, forcing an error on a hustle play and drawing a walk. Morganne Flores also drew a walk to start a seventh-inning rally that would fall short.

Kelley Lynch was in the circle and looked strong after overcoming San Diego State's early attack. Lynch retired eight straight at between the third and fifth innings, broken up by a walk. She would allow just two hits after a leadoff single to start the third.

  • First Inning: San Diego State put their first four batters of the game on to start an early rally. The home team would score three runs in the frame, taking an early lead.
  • Second Inning: A flyball to left just kept traveling for San Diego State, ending up a solo home run to make it 4-0.
  • Bates (1x3, 2B) moved to ninth in Husky history in hits with her double in the first.
  • Bates is now on a seven-game hit streak, the fourth seven-game hit streak of her career and third since the start of 2020.
  • In her last three games, Flores (0x2, BB) has drawn three walks.

Washington will play San Diego State one more time tomorrow, at 1:00 pm. That game will be streamed live via YouTube.
