No. 4 Ute Gymnasts Close Out Conference Play Friday At No. 23 Oregon State

Meet Notes - Oregon State

Contending for its second-straight undefeated season in conference play, No. 4-ranked Utah gymnastics (8-1, 5-0 Pac-12) is set to take on No. 23 Oregon State (2-4, 1-3 Pac-12) in the conference finale for the Utes in the regular season. Utah and Oregon State will compete this Friday, March 5 at 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. MT at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Ore. The meet will be live streamed.
Utah remained at No. 4 in the nation as the RoadToNationals rankings officially turned to National Qualifying Scores (NQS). A team's NQS this year is an average of four scores – two of which must be road or neutral site scores. The Utes rank No. 3 on beam, No. 5 on floor, No. 5 on vault and No. 13 on bars. Maile O'Keefe moved to No. 1 in the nation on beam and ranks No. 8 in the all-around. Following the shift to NQS, Abby Paulson is tied for No. 4 in the nation on beam, while Alexia Burch is No. 5 in the country on vault. Sydney Soloski is tied for No. 14 on floor and Cristal Isa is tied for No. 16 on the uneven bars to round out the Red Rocks ranked in the top-25.
• Utah changed three of four event lineups in the victory over California, producing a score of 197.375, which is just one-tenth shy of its season-high team score.
• Utah has hit 161-168 routines this season. Gymnasts who have hit every routine are O'Keefe (27-27), Cristal Isa (23-23), Lucy Stanhope (16-16), Adrienne Randall (10-10), Sydney Soloski (7-7) and Jaylene Gilstrap (5-5).
• Individual event winners this season are O'Keefe (13), Burch (4), Isa (3), Soloski (3), Hall (2), Paulson (2) and Jaedyn Rucker (1).
• Pac-12 award winners this season for Utah are O'Keefe as Gymnast of the Week (Jan. 21, Feb. 2, Feb. 9); Soloski (Jan. 21, Feb. 23), Paulson (Feb. 2) and Burch (Feb. 9) as Specialists of the Week; and Rucker (Jan. 21, Feb. 9) and Burch (Feb. 2, Feb. 23) as the Coaches' Choice winners.
• Utah is No. 1 in the Pac-12 on vault, beam and floor. Alexia Burch is ranked No. 1 in the conference on vault, Maile O'Keefe is No. 1 on beam and in the all-around, while Sydney Soloski is tied for No. 1 on floor in the Pac-12.
• Utah has three gymnasts ranked in the top-10 in the conference on vault, four ranked in the top-10 on beam, and three in the top-10 on floor, which is the most of any team on those respective events.
• Utah is the only team undefeated in the Pac-12 Conference and has not lost a regular season Pac-12 dual meet since Feb. 23, 2019.
Utah leads the all-time series over Oregon State 72-10-1, holding an 18-9 record in Corvallis. Utah has won the last seven matchups with its last loss coming in Corvallis by a score of 196.550-196.525. Last season, Utah rolled past Oregon State in Salt Lake City, downing the Beavers 197.100-196.275 despite counting a fall on floor. The Utes boasted a 49.450 on vault and 49.600 on beam to lead the charge, while Sydney Soloski won a share of the floor title and Maile O'Keefe took home the beam victory.

Utah gymnastics will close out the 2021 regular season against Utah State for senior night at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City. Utah and Utah State will compete at 7 p.m. MT and the meet will be live streamed.
