Tubelis Earns Second Straight Freshman of the Week Accolade
TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona freshman forward Azuolas Tubelis was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday (March 1). In wins against Washington State and Washington, he averaged 12.5 points and 12.0 rebounds. It's the second consecutive week that Tubelis has been named the conference's Freshman of the Week.
In the win against Washington State, he registered nine points, nine rebounds and one blocked shots. And then against Washington, he logged a dominating 16-point, 15-rebound game. He's the only freshman in the country to have two games with 16 points and 15 rebounds (vs. USC, Washington).
This marks the fourth time this season that a Wildcat received a weekly award as voted on by the media around the conference.
