Rowing Announces 2021 Spring Schedule

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women's rowing team has announced its 2021 spring schedule on Wednesday, March 3. The Cougars will compete in six races this spring, which begins this Saturday, March 3, against No. 1 Washington at Lake Las Vegas.

The Cougars are set to take to the water for the first time in 490 days after the 2020 spring schedule was canceled by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Washington State enters the 2021 spring season ranked No. 19 in the Polack/CRCA preseason poll.

WSU kicks-off the 2021 spring schedule with a dual-race against the top-ranked Huskies at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada. It marks the first time since the 2017-18 season that the Washington State and Washington have raced against each other individually.

After its season-opening race in Las Vegas, the Cougs will head to Dexter Lake, Oregon on March 20 for a dual race against No. 17-ranked Oregon State. Washington State will get a preview of the 2021 Pac-12 Rowing Championship field on April 10, as the Cougars head back to Henderson, Nevada to compete in the Pac-12 Invitational at Lake Las Vegas. Nine of the 10 Pac-12 teams will be at Lake Las Vegas to race in the Pac-12 Invitational.

The Cougars will make their longest trip of the year the following week, as they head east to Bethel, Ohio to participate in the Big Ten Invitational on April 17-18. Washington State will race against eight Big Ten teams at Harsha Lake, as well as No. 7 Virginia, No. 9 Duke, No. 10 Rutgers, No. 14 Syracuse, Louisville (RV), Notre Dame (RV) and Tennessee (RV).

WSU hosts its lone race at Wawawai Landing to close out the 2021 spring regular season., when the Cougars challenge No. 17 Oregon State for their second dual race of the spring against the Beavers.

The 22021 Pac-12 Championships will take place on May 16 at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, California. The postseason will get underway on May 28-30, as the 2021 NCAA Rowing Championships will be held in Sarasota, Florida at the Nathan Benderson Park.
