USC Baseball Falls 5-0 to Cal State Fullerton
LOS ANGELES – The USC baseball team fell to Cal State Fullerton 5-0 at home on Friday night in a non-conference matchup.
The Titans got a complete-game shutout from starter Tanner Bibee as they move to 4-4 on the year. USC drops to 3-4 with the loss.
Both starting pitchers were cruising through the first four innings until Jackson Lyon hit a solo-shot off of USC's Isaac Esqueda to get the visitors on the board. Fullerton would add two runs in the sixth and two in the eighth to complete the scoring.
Nate Nankil drove in three of the Titans' runs and Lyon drove in the other two. Bibee finished giving up three hits and no runs, while tossing 88 pitches.
Esqueda gave up three runs on six hits in 5.2 innings, and Jaden Agassi tossed the final 3.1 innings, giving up two runs on two hits.
The Trojans continue play at home tomorrow, hosting Pepperdine for a 2 p.m. matchup. USC then concludes the weekend at No. 8 UCLA on Sunday at 1 p.m. Links for both live streams and live stats are available at the baseball schedule page on USCTrojans.com.
