Briana Thai Heads To NCAA Zone Diving Meet

Mar 7, 2021

BERKELEY – Senior Briana Thai will look to qualify for the NCAA Championships when she heads to Flagstaff, Arizona, for the NCAA Zone E meet Monday through Wednesday.

Thai earned a spot at the national championships last year with a qualifying zone result on the 3-meter springboard. This season, she is coming off a strong Pac-12 meet where she placed among the top 5 in the conference in all three diving events – third on 1-meter, fourth on 3-meter and fifth on platform.

Thai holds the Cal scoring record on 1-meter with a 319.58-point effort in 2019, while she is third all-time for the Bears on 3-meter (334.00 in 2020) and second on platform (275.05 in 2021).

Divers who finish among the top 12 on 1-meter and top 9 on 3-meter and platform qualify for NCAAs. Fans can follow live results through Dive Meets.
