Bruins Off to Great Start at Lamkin San Diego Classic
CHULA VISTA, Calif. - The Bruins were one of five teams to finish under par on day one of the Lamkin San Diego Classic, shooting a 1-under 287 at the San Diego Country Club on Monday. UCLA is tied for fourth, four shots back of first-place San Diego (-5, 283).
Senior Devon Bling is tied for second after 18 holes following a 4-under 68. He made an eagle on the par-5 14th hole, five birdies on the par-5 second and eighth and par-4 seventh, 12th and 17th, one bogey and one double. He is one shot back of Nevada's Sam Harned (-5, 67).
Junior Bryan Wiyang Teoh is tied for 12th, shooting a 2-under 70 on Monday. He also made an eagle on the par-5 14th, adding three birdies on the par-4 ninth and 15th holes and the par-3 11th to go with three bogeys.
Sophomore Mason Greene is tied for 49th (+2, 74), making four birdies on the par-5 14th and par-4 fourth, ninth and 17th holes, adding six bogeys. Senior Eddy Lai is tied for 59th (+3, 75), making a birdie on the par-4 17th hole and four bogeys. Freshman Dylan Vizanko (T-107, +11, 83) made five bogeys and three doubles.
The Bruins begin round two on Tuesday at 8:50 a.m. off the first tee in the order of Green, Vizanko, Lai, Teoh and Bling. Live scoring will be available here.
