Cats Drop Monday Game at #22 UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Second-ranked Arizona fell for the first time this season on Monday afternoon, dropping a 2-0 decision at 22nd-ranked Central Florida.

Arizona could not solve UCF starter Gianna Mancha, who threw the three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and just three hits allowed. Arizona put runners in scoring position in three innings, but could not score.

Arizona starter Alyssa Denham was nearly as good, allowing just two runs, one earned, on just three hits. She struck out five and walked two.

The Wildcats' three hits came from Jessie Harper, Dejah Mulipola and Carlie Scupin, all singles. 

Arizona dropped to 12-1 on the season and will head to Tallahassee where it will face Florida A&M on Wednesday before a three-game series at No. 16 Florida State (Thursday-Saturday).
