Men's Golf Heads into the Final Day of Bandon Dunes in 10th Place

BANDON, Ore. – The Washington State men's golf team will head into the final round of the Bandon Dunes Championship in 10th place on the team leaderboard, after the Cougars ended Tuesday, March 8, shooting 306 (+22) in the tournament's second round.

WSU will open Wednesday's final round with a team score of 597 (+29). The third round of the Bandon Dunes Championship will tee-off tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. PT.

Graduate senior Eric Hagen carded a team-best four-over par; 75 in his second go-around on the course at the Bandon Trails Golf Club. The Olympia, Washington native collected a pair of birdies on the day to end the second round in a tie for 29th overall on the player leaderboard.

Junior Max Sekulic will also begin the third round inside the top-50, as he goes into Wednesday in a tie for 49th overall after ending his second round at seven-over par; 77. Sekulic matched Hagen for the team lead in birdies, as the Rycroft, Alberta native finished the 15th and 16th holes at one-under par.

Fifth-year senior Nicklaus Chiam currently sits in a tie for 58th on the player leading board after carding 80 (+9) in the second round. Freshman Jaden Cantafio took one-stroke off his first-round score, as he finished the second card carding five-over par; 76. Sophomore Pono Yanagi finished the second day of the Bandon Dunes Championship with a score of 78 (+7), as he will open tomorrow's third round in a tie for 72nd on the player leaderboard.

Sophomore Yuya Eguchi, who is competing at the Bandon Dunes as an individual, finished Tuesday by collecting the best second-round score for a WSU golfer, as he carded a personal-best one-under par (70) to end his day in a tie for 37th.

San Francisco heads into the final day of the Bandon Dunes Championship in first place, holding a seven-stroke lead over second-place Long Beach State. Fresno State's Tommy Stephenson will go into the third round atop the player leaderboard, as he is shooting 135 (-7) through two rounds of play.
