George Korovin Leads USC With Win On Platform At Zone E Diving Championships
Sophomore men's diver George Korovin won on platform to lead the Trojans during the second day of the Zone E Diving Championships in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Korovin finished the day with 756.75 and earned a second NCAA qualification after qualifying on 1-meter yesterday. The sophomore opened the day with a dominant performance in prelims, to secure the top spot heading into finals.
Two other Trojans punched their tickets to the NCAA's, as sophomore's Savannah Stocker (601.50) and Nike Agunbiade (600.35) finished fifth and sixth, respectively on 3-meter.
Also competing on 3-meter was freshman Farrah Volpintesta who finished the day 19th overall with 250.55.
This year's Zone E Championships concludes tomorrow with the women's platform and men's 3-meter competition. Prelims begin at 10:30 a.m. PT, with finals to follow in the early afternoon.
