Mar 9, 2021

SALT LAKE CITY – After posting the Pac-12's highest score in the all-around this season, Ute sophomore Maile O'Keefe was named the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time this season. The Las Vegas native picked up four-of-five titles against Oregon State after posting career highs in the all-around and on bars, while matching a career mark on vault.

O'Keefe did not score below a 9.90 on any event against Oregon State and led Utah to its second-straight outright Pac-12 Regular Season Championship, as well as Utah's second year in a row of finishing the conference slate undefeated. O'Keefe posted a career-high 39.725 in the all-around, which is the highest mark in the Pac-12 this season, to push Utah to a season-high 197.575 in Corvallis, Ore.

O'Keefe started the night by recording a career-high 9.95 on the uneven bars to claim the event victory. She then earned her first career vault title after earning a share of the event victory with a career-matching 9.90 to continue her stellar start to the night. Her third 9.90-plus score of the night came from a 9.90 on floor, which placed fourth overall.

She wrapped up the career night in the all-around by scoring her second-straight 9.975 on beam to win her sixth beam title in eight meets this season. O'Keefe ranks No. 1 in the Pac-12 on beam and the all-around, while she ranks No. 1 nationally on beam and No. 9 in the all-around.

Following O'Keefe's fourth Gymnast of the Week selection, Utah has now claimed 13 weekly honors to lead the conference. Adding to O'Keefe's honors have been Jaedyn Rucker and Alexia Burch, who have earned two Coaches' Choice awards and a Specialist of the Week honor each, along with Sydney Soloski, who boasts two Specialist of the Week awards, and Abby Paulson, who has also been named a Specialist of the Week.

No. 5 Utah will close out the regular season this Friday, March 12 against No. 20 Utah State at 7 p.m. MT inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
