Hailey Harward and Julia Scoles Named Pac-12 Beach Pair of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – USC beach volleyball graduates Hailey Harward (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Julia Scoles (Mooresville, N.C.) were selected as the Pac-12's Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week for the week of March 1-7, the Conference announced on Wednesday, March 10.
Harward and Scoles went 4-0 at the No. 2 position to help the Trojans collect four dual wins over top-20 ranked opponents. The duo won in straight sets through those matches and produced three sets in which they won, 21-11. No opponent scored more than 16 points in any set against Harward-Scoles, who have yet to lose a set this season.
Against then sixth-ranked Cal Poly, Harward-Scoles defeated Jayelin Lombard and Amy Ozee, 21-14, 21-11. They took down No. 4 UCLA's Devon Newberry and Lindsey Sparks, 21-11, 21-14; and beat Katie Kennedy and Nicci Reinking of No. 17 Long Beach State, 21-15, 21-16. The Trojan tandem collected a sixth straight win with a 21-11, 21-13 victory over Alexis Filippone and Sutton Mactavish of No. 9 Pepperdine.
It is the first-career Pac-12 award for Harward and Scoles and the second consecutive weekly honor for a USC pair. Last week, sophomores Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse earned their first-career Pac-12 Pair of the Week award from the No. 5 position. Previously, Scoles won Big West Pair of the Week honors four times at Hawai'i (2019-20. As an indoor volleyball libero, Harward won Big West Defensive Player of the Week four times with Long Beach State (2016-19).
USC pairs have won a conference-leading 19 all-time Pac-12 Pair of the Week awards since its inception in 2016. 
The top-ranked Women of Troy (6-0) defeated then No. 6-ranked Cal Poly and No. 4 UCLA in back-to-back 5-0 home sweeps and then beat No. 17 Long Beach State in a third 5-0 victory and No. 9 Pepperdine, 4-1, at the Pepperdine Invite.
USC returns to Merle Norman Stadium to host a three-dual day when No. 7 Loyola Marymount (7-1) and No. 17 Long Beach State (2-4) visit on Saturday, March 13. Long Beach State and LMU meet at 10 a.m. PT to start the day. The Trojans then face Beach not before 12:15 p.m. PT and then finish the day with a dual against the Lions at 2:30 p.m.
