BERKELEY – California women's tennis takes a brief detour from Pac-12 Conference play when it faces the San Diego Toreros on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Hogan Tennis Center. The 17th-ranked Golden Bears bring a 7-2 record into the match, while USD has a 5-2 record.

Last Time: Cal Routs Utah
Cal demolished Utah, 7-0, on Sunday, March 7, in Salt Lake City, after falling at Colorado, 4-3, in the Bears' Pac-12 opener on Friday, March 5. Cal senior Julia Rosenqvist, ranked 43rd, defeated Madeline Lamoreaux, 6-1, 6-2, at court-two singles to clinch the victory. Rosenqvist also teamed with Erin Richardson to clinch the doubles point with a 6-2 result over Anya Lamoreaux and Jasmine Rich. Cal is now 1-1 in the Pac-12.

Cal sits at No. 17 in the March 10 Oracle ITA Rankings. Three Bears are ranked in singles in No. 18 Haley Giavara (6-2), No. 26 Valentina Ivanov (5-4) and No. 43 Julia Rosenqvist (7-1). In doubles, Giavara and Ivanov (4-1) are ranked 40th, and the duo of Rosenqvist and Anna Bright is ranked 43rd (1-2). Updated singles and doubles rankings have yet TBA.

- Haley Giavara won both her singles matches at Colorado (Sara Nayar, 6-4, 6-3) and at Utah (Lindsay Hung, 6-0, 6-2)
- Julia Rosenqvist likewise went 2-0 in singles on the road trip, including a 6-2, 6-3 win over CU's Antonia Balzert
- Anna Bright improved to 6-1 this season with wins over Colorado's Fleur Eggink, 6-3, 6-1, and Utah's Anya Lamoreaux, 6-3, 6-4
- Cal's doubles pair of Giavara and Valentina Ivanov had a notable win this year when it upset the top-ranked Elysia Bolton and Jada Hart, 6-4, in Cal's 4-3 win over No. 3 UCLA on Feb. 20
- Hannah Viller Moeller and Jada Bui have started their freshmen seasons strong in singles, as Viller Moeller is 7-1 and Bui is 4-0
- Also in singles, Erin Richardson is 3-2
- The doubles team of Bright and Viller Moeller is 4-2, while Rosenqvist and Richardson are 5-1
- Amanda Augustus is in her 14th year as head coach at her alma mater

- The Toreros beat UC Irvine, 7-0, on March 5 and San Diego State, 7-0, on March 7
- In singles, USD's Solymar Colling (5-2) is ranked 61st and Elizabeth Goldsmith (5-2) is ranked 124th
- USD played a couple of other Pac-12 teams earlier this season, losing to both UCLA, 7-0, and USC, 6-1
- Sherri Stephens is in her 36th year as head coach at San Diego
