Women’s 4x400m Relay Squad Set to Compete at NCAA Indoor Championships
LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's 4x400m relay squad is headed to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The meet is scheduled to begin on Thursday, Mar. 11 and run through Saturday, Mar. 13.
The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas. Live championship coverage will be streamed on ESPN3. A re-air of the championship will take place starting at 6:00 p.m. PT on Sunday, Mar. 14 on ESPNU.
The women's 4x4 is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. CT/5:20 p.m. PT on Saturday. It will be the last track event of the Championships. The Bruins enter the meet with a seed time of 3:36.65, set at the Arkansas Qualifier (Feb. 5). It was the lone 4x400m race of the season contested by UCLA, but the time held strong for NCAA qualification. The time is currently good for the 11th-best mark in the country.
This is the second-straight year the Bruin women have qualified for NCAA Indoors in the 4x400m relay. The 2020 indoor season saw the team originally notch the No. 2 indoor mark in school history (3:30.98) at the Don Kirby Invite. The squad then topped that performance with an indoor school-record time of the 3:30.28 at the MPSF Championships, good for the fifth-best time in the nation ahead of the NCAA Indoor Championships. The team was set to compete at the national indoor meet, but the competition was, ultimately, canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
