DAVIS, Calif. – The 15th ranked Arizona Wildcats ran their record to 6-0 on the season after a 4-1 win at UC Davis on Friday afternoon.
Brooke Burling and Sarah Blacker cruised to a win in two sets against Bowman and McGuire from UC Davis with scores of 21-11 and 21-14. Alana Rennie and Alex Parkhurst improved to 3-0 on the year at the No. 1 pair spot after a 21-18, 21-13 win over Reed and Luly.
Natalie Anselmo and Carly Lowery picked up their fourth win of the season together in two sets, 21-17, 21-16.
Dana Parker and Mady Noble dropped the first set of their match against Seslar and Rockas but rallied to win the next two sets to get the win and clinch the fourth point for the Wildcats.
At the No. 5 spot, Abby Russell and Hope Shannon lost a nail-biter in two sets, dropping sets by scores of 23-21 and 22-20.
Arizona and UC Davis will battle each other again on Saturday in an exhibition pairs event starting at 9:00am.
