Cougs Compete at NCAA Indoor Championships

60M Hurdles Results | 5000M Results | Mile Results

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Washington State University Track and Field program saw three student-athletes competing at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships during day two of the event Friday afternoon.
 
Sam Brixey got the day started for the Cougars in the 60-meter hurdles where he placed 11th overall with a time of 7.79. Brixey was just .05 seconds away from qualifying for the finals in the event as well. Zach Stallings was next up for WSU, as he ran in the mile event, posting a time of 4:09.05 and placing 14th overall. Finally Colton Johnsen closed out the afternoon for Washington State in the 5000-meter run, where Colton placed 15th overall with a time of 14:01.86. All three of these competitors earned NCAA Second Team All-American selections as well. 
 

Friday, March 12
60m Hurdles:  Sam Brixey – 7.79 (11th)
Mile:  Zach Stallings – 4:09.05 (14th)
5000m:  Colton Johnsen – 14:01.86 (15th)

Washington State Track and Field returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, March 13 at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The Cougars will see Charisma Taylor compete in the triple jump, and Colton Johnsen will run in the 3000-meter event. The Championships will be held at Fayetteville, Ark. and hosted by the University of Arkansas inside Randal Tyson Indoor Track as well.
