Oregon State Selected as Eight Seed in NCAA Tournament

Mar 15, 2021

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State women's basketball team has been selected as a No. eight seed and will face ninth-seeded Florida State on Sunday in the First Round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, as was announced during Monday's Selection Show.

The Beavers' first round game will take place at Strahan Arena on the campus of Texas State in San Marcos, Texas. The NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee announced in February that San Antonio and the surrounding region will play host to the entire 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.

Should Oregon State win on Sunday, it would face either one-seeded South Carolina or 16-seed Mercer in the second round of the tournament on Tuesday.

With Monday's selection, the Beavers have now been invited to the last seven NCAA Tournaments. Oregon State has made four-consecutive Sweet 16's, including a Final Four run in 2016, and would have likely been a top-four seed last season had the event not been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oregon State heads into the NCAA Tournament with a record of 11-7. The Beavers have won eight of their last 10 games, including three victories over ranked opponents. Aleah Goodman and Taylor Jones both earned All-Pac-12 honors this season.

Per NCAA guidelines there will be no public tickets available for first and second rounds of the tournament. Only team guests will be permitted in the venue.
