KANSAS CITY / INDIANAPOLIS – Utah men's basketball forward Timmy Allen garnered his second-straight USBWA (United States Basketball Writers Association) All-District honor and first NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) All-District honor on Tuesday.
 
Overall, Allen is the third Runnin' Utes player named to the USBWA All-District team twice in his career – joining Wright (2014, 2015) and Luke Nevill (2007, 2009). In addition, Allen becomes the first Ute named to both the NABC and USWBA All-District teams in the same year since Kyle Kuzma (2017) and 10th player in program history to do so. It is also the 12th time a Ute was named to both all-district teams. The Mesa, Ariz., native was also named First-Team All-Pac12 and AP All-Pac-12 Second-Team last week.
 
NABC member head coaches at the Division I level vote for NABC All-District team while basketball writers across the United States for their respective regions select the USBWA All-District team.  
 
Allen finished the season averaging 17.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.9 rebounds to go with a .465 shooting clip. In addition to leading the team in points and rebounds, he also led the team with 98 assists but was .1 shy away from tying Rylan Jones for the top assists average on the team as well. At season's end, Allen is ranked 21st on the Utah all-time scoring list with 1,323 career points.
 
With the Pac-12 Tournament all wrapped up, Allen remains the only player to place in the top-10 in scoring (5th, 17.2ppg), rebounds (7th, 6.4rpg), assists (5th, 3.9apg) and steals (10th, 1.3spg). Through games on Sunday, March 14, Allen is just 1-of-7 players according to Basketball-Reference to average 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Of the seven, The only other two players from the list that hails from a Power 6 conference are Ayo Dosunmu (20.7ppg, 6.3rpg, 5.3apg) and Cade Cunningham (20.2ppg, 6.3rpg, 3.6apg).
 
In Pac-12 play, the Utah forward averaged 17.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists – including a pair of double-doubles in back-to-back games. Allen picked up his first double-double of the season at Washington, dishing out a career-high 10 assists to go with his 15 points two days after point guard Rylan Jones dished out 10 himself against Washington State. Allen then had 17 points and 10 boards for his ninth-career double-double in Utah's come from behind win at Colorado.
 
The USBWA will also announce its All-America team on Wednesday, March 17, while a date for the NABC All-American team has yet to be announced.
