With its full team intact, Utah will have 26 student-athletes competing in 11 different events on Saturday when it steps on the start line against Long Beach State, USC and Washington State. Karli Branch, Morgan Jensen and Chloe Kockler will make their outdoor debut in the Red and White while Emma Early races in the 1500m for the first time.
LAST TIME OUT
The Utes had a great showing at the UNLV Spring Opener two weeks ago but high winds kept many of the times from leaving their mark in the record books.
Maya LeBar's 100m time would have been third-best all-time but the win readings were just too high. Lauren O'Banion, Annie Murdock and Ruby Jane Mathewson all won their respective heats in the 200m but only Murdock's time of 25.96 counted. Mathewson's 100m hurdles time of 14.74 was good for third but had high wind during her run as well. Murdock also won her heat in the 400m, posting a time of 57.79.
It will be a short turnaround for Utah the following week as it heads to Austin, Texas, for the Texas Relays (March 24-27) at Mike A. Meyers Stadium. The four-day meet will see some of the best of the best in college athletics take the track.
