BERKELEY, Calif. -- Arizona Volleyball picked up its first road win of the season, sweeping California in three dominant sets (25-19, 25-15, 25-17) on Friday night at HAAS Pavilion.

The Cats held the Bears to .023 hitting, using six blocks -- including six from Zyonna Fellows -- to keep the Cal offense at bay. Arizona also had nine aces in the win.

Emery Herman had another big match for the Wildcats, following up her near-triple-double last Sunday with another stat-stuffing match vs. Cal. The freshman setter found a lot of success as an attacker, posting five kills on just seven error-free swings (.714) while dishing out 25 assists, posting five digs and one block in the win.

Five different Wildcats had at least five kills in the win, with Paige Whipple's seven leading the way. Sofia Maldonado Diaz and Zyonna Fellows had six each while Herman and Jaelyn Hodge finished with five.

Arizona's nine aces were its most in a three-set match since Sept. 20, 2019 (11 vs. Alabama State). Maldonado Diaz had a career-most four aces to lead the way while Malina Kalei Ua also set a career-high with three.

The win was UA's third straight and fourth in its last five. Arizona improved to 8-9 (8-9 Pac-12), while California fell to 1-16 (1-16 Pac-12).

The Cats and the Bears meet once again on Sunday at 1 p.m. MST.
