CORVALLIS, Oregon - Three Oregon State home runs proved to be too much for California in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader from the OSU Sports Complex. The Beavers beat the Golden Bears, 6-2.

Cal fell to 12-6 on the year, but remained 1-1 in Pac-12 play because this was a non-conference game.

Oregon State slugged its first homer with a solo shot in the bottom of the second.

Cal loaded the bases with nobody out in both the first and third innings. Notching her second big hit of the day after homering in Game 1, Sona Halajian grounded one up the middle in the third that scored pinch runner Amani Bradley to tie the game at one.

Oregon State responded in the bottom of the third with a two-run single to take the lead back and go up, 3-1. Oregon State extended the lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the fourth with another solo homer.

Back-to-back singles to start the fifth from Makena Smith and Cameron Kondo put the Bears in business. An RBI groundout by Aleia Agbayani scored Smith to cut the Beavers' lead down to 4-2.

A two-run home run by Oregon State in the bottom of the fifth put the Beavers in control the rest of the way.

Lauren Espalin recorded two hits and a walk, including a double, marking her sixth multi-hit game of the season, which leads her team. It was also her fourth double on the year, as well.

The Bears and Beavers conclude the series tomorrow at 11 a.m.
