USC Women's Golf Sixth After Liz Murphey Collegiate Second Round
Senior Allisen Corpuz carded a 2-over 74 while senior Amelia Garvey posted a 75 to lead No. 7 USC during a windy second round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate at the University of Georgia G.C. in Athens, Ga., on Saturday (March 19).
The Trojans couldn't solve the blustery conditions today, finishing the second round at 17-over 305 and are now sixth in the 18-team field at 21-over 597 (292-305). South Carolina, the only school under par today, is in first at 4-over 580.
Corpuz was over par for just the third time this season but finished her round at 2-under over the final eight holes and is tied for fifth at par 144 (70-74), five out of first and one of only seven players in the 90-woman field at par or better.
Garvey is tied for 14th at 3-over 147 (72-75), her second round today dotted by an eagle on the par 5 seventh hole as well as two back 9 birdies.
Senior Alyaa Abdulghany is tied for 37th at 8-over 152 (74-78), sophomore Alexa Melton is tied for 51st at 10-over 154 (76-78) and freshman Brianna Navarrosa is tied for 73rd at 15-over 159 (77-82).
