EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon posted its second consecutive runner-up finish by coming in second at the Duck Invitational following Tuesday's final round at Eugene Country Club. The Ducks shot 8 over and finished the tournament 12 over while having four players – three who were in the lineup – place in the top 11 individually.

How It Happened: Tom Gueant turned in the best finish for the Ducks, coming in tied for third at 3 under after a 1-over 72 in the final round. He played steady the entire day, with just one rough stretch early on coming with back-to-back bogeys at four and five. He made all pars after that until driving it just short of the green at the par-4 17th to make birdie and get to 1 over.

Yuki Moriyama matched Gueant with a 1-over 72 and came in tied for 11th. He started his day on hole No. 2 and had just one bogey on his card heading to the back nine. The freshman had an up-and-down back nine, making a pair of birdies and three bogeys to sit at 1 over heading into his last hole, where he closed with a birdie at the par-4 first.

Owen Avrit bounced back from a rough first day of the tournament with a 1-over 72 of his own. Starting at No. 4, he made 10 consecutive pars to start before a birdie and two bogeys in a five-hole stretch put him at 1 over for the round and 14 over for the tournament, tied for 40th. Jake Sollon was the final counting score, turning in a 5-over 76 to place tied for 26th at 10 over.

Nate Stember also turned in a top-11 finish, coming in tied for 11th at 5 over following a 6-over 77. Craig Ronne turned in a solid event, playing as an individual, coming in tied for sixth at 3 over. Greg Solhaug ended his final round on fire, going 5 under in his last seven holes to shoot a 1-under 70 and finish tied for 16th competing as an individual.

Notable: The Ducks turned in their third straight top-5 finish and second consecutive runner-up … Gueant's tied for third finish was his first top 5 of the year and second top 10 of the season … It was also his second top 5, matching a career-best finish that came at last year's Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate … Stember and Moriyama both finished inside the top 15 for the second straight tournament, while Moriyama has been in the top 15 in each of the last three.

Up Next: The Ducks have just one day between events as they get set to play in The Goodwin, March 25-27 in Stanford, Calif.
