USC Men's Swim Opens NCAA Championships With 800 Free Relay
Junior Alexei Sancov led off with a PR 200y free and joined Dom Margarino, and sophomores Max Saunders and Harry Homans in the 800y free to open the 2021 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, Wednesday (March 24) in Greensboro, N.C.
The Trojans quartet clocked a 6:19.91 to finish 18th overall.
Sancov opened with a 1:31.82 that lowered his PR set at Pac-12s (1:32.20). His time now puts him third overall in the 200y free.
Margarino, one of USC's distance specialists, followed with a 1:35.94. He handed it off to Saunders for a 1:36.21 while Homans stretched himself for a closing 1:35.94.
The NCAA Championships continue Thursday through Saturday with prelims at 7 a.m. PT each day and finals at 3 p.m. PT.

The championships will be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center with live championship coverage airing on ESPN3 for preliminary and finals sessions.
