Mar 25, 2021

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Coming off its best finish of the season and the return of its full complement of players, No. 18 Arizona Women's Golf enters the home stretch of the regular season when it competes in the three-day PING/ASU Invitational on Friday, March 26 at Papago Golf Club. The Wildcats will be led by the decorated trio of Yu-Sang Hou, Vivian Hou and Ya Chun Chang who competed together for the first time in Arizona's lineup in the team's second-place finish at the Clover Cup.

"We are coming off a very strong showing in our last event with momentum heading into Arizona State's tournament," said head coach Laura Ianello. "We've had excellent practice rounds since the Clover Cup, and I am excited to see how our team performs this weekend in Phoenix against a quality field of opponents."

Sophomore Vivian Hou finished tied for third at the Clover Cup two weeks ago with a final score of 7-under par, marking her best event of the young season. Arizona's second top-ten finish in its last event came from junior Ya Chun Chang's ninth place finish at 3-under par in her first collegiate event of the season. Yu-Sang Hou, Therese Warner and Gile Bite Starkute were the remainder of Arizona's lineup at the Clover Cup and all posted top-25 scores.

The field at this year's event features four opponents ranked in the top 20 of GolfStat's national rankings. The Wildcats have found recent success at the PING/ASU Inivitational, winning the event in 2018 by four strokes over Washington.
