USC Women’s Rowing to Challenge UCLA in Crosstown Dual
LOS ANGELES--The No. 18 USC women's rowing team will travel to the Westside to Marina del Rey, Calif. to challenge UCLA in a dual this Saturday (March 27). The Women of Troy hope to extend their winning streak against the Bruins. USC is 18-0 all-time against UCLA. This will be the first of two duals for the crosstown rivals, with the second scheduled for May 1 at USC's home course at the Port of Los Angeles.
The dual is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with the Varsity 4 hitting the water first. The Second Varsity 8 will race at 9:15 a.m., and the Varsity 8 will conclude the dual at 9:30 a.m.
The dual will be scored with the following system: the Varsity 8 race will be worth three points, the Second Varsity 8 race will be two points, the Varsity 4 will be one point and the Third Varsity Eight will be half a point.
In their last encounter in May 2019, the Trojans defeated UCLA 6-1 by winning the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 races. UCLA's point was earned by USC not entering a Third Varsity 8 boat in the competition.
