Mar 25, 2021

SEATTLE - With her 13-1 start to the season, senior Vanessa Wong has moved up to a career-high No. 30 in the latest singles rankings announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Her previous career-high was a No. 36 ranking.

Wong's only defeat this season came in a third set super-tiebreak to current No. 8-ranked Abbey Forbes of UCLA. Based on the new poll, she has wins over 59th-ranked Mel Krywoj of Baylor, 62nd-ranked Naomi Cheong of USC, and 69th-ranked Michaela Bayerlova of Washington State, plus other quality wins over the No. 1 players from Arizona and Arizona State and Oregon.

Wong could face two more ranked singles players this weekend as the Huskies go up against Cal and Stanford in the Bay Area this Friday and Saturday.
