Arizona Soccer Falls to No. 19 USC

Mar 26, 2021

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Arizona Wildcats (6-4-0, 1-4-0) fell to No. 19 USC (4-3-1, 3-3-0) with a final score of 1-0 in favor of the Trojans. In a match that was scoreless for 85% of game play, the Arizona defense was on high alert and made concentrated efforts at keeping the Trojans from scoring position.

With excellent performances from veteran defender Sabrina Enciso and freshmen defenders Ava Hetzel and Jasmine Young, the Arizona defense was able to be a reckoning force against USC.

Offensively, forward Jill Aguilera took the most shots from scoring position ending with five shots and two SOG. Additionally, Madison Goerlinger and Jada Talley both ended with a SOG of their own. Arizona was trumped by the Trojans in shots going 11-14 but keeper Hope Hisey managed to pick up two extra saves over the Trojans, ending 6-4 with the USC keeper.
